Tales of the unprotected
For the final project of my 1st year, we had to explore the theme of fiction. At the time, I was visiting many national trust castles in my free time and began to wonder what would happen to these buildings if they weren't protected by organisations like the national trust. The destruction of our local surroundings is taking place constantly, we are just unaware of it as it has become so normalized. The need for protection is not exclusive to castles. In my final body of work, I use castles as a scapegoat to highlight what these issues would look like with a building in which everyone holds connotations of beauty within to bring to light what's happening all around us.
